Portsmouth Pantomime

I woke up first and went out and ran five miles along the esplanade beside the ocean. At first I was like “Wow”, a lot of people run here in Portsmouth but once I was amongst them I realized I was in the middle of a 5K. I continued beyond the finish and ran to the end of a small peninsula where a river entered the sea and then looped back. It was an easy five miles because it was flat. Ambiana and Colleen were out for a run when I got back and I ate breakfast and watched a review of the Year in Royalty on the BBC which was heavy on the coronation of King Charles III.

After Colleen and Ambiana got back and Jakobi woke up and they all ate breakfast we all went out to the pier where Jakobi played arcade games while Ambiana and I walked out to the end of the pier and along the beach.

We then walked a mile or so to the main street in Portsmouth

We were on our way to our 2nd pantomime; “Hook: The Further Adventures of Peter Pan”

With we watched from the highest bench in the balcony of the King’s Theater which was built in 1910.

The show was better than the Cinderella Pantomime in Chipping Norton.

There was lots more dancing and songs including a parody of “Sweet Child O’ Mine”. Mrs Smee was a riot, the jokes funny, the dancing and singing very flashy, flying actors and a super silly “12 Days of Christmas” that had the audience tossing rolls of toilet paper onto the stage.

And it all ended with a “YMCA” sing-a-long; very entertaining and the crowd was way into it. We had a lot of fun!

Afterwards we took Ambiana out for her birthday dinner at an awesome Indian restaurant where we actually got a handwritten check! We then walked back to our accommodation and packed for our 6:30am departure tomorrow.
